Poetry

Age, theme, genre are no barriers.
Please submit up to 3 poems (1-3) per submission.
Poems of and under 40 lines in length will be preferred. Longer poems too shall be considered if adjudged to be exceptional.
Please send in your entries in a single document attached in either of the following formats ONLY: .pdf.
We suggest that submissions be formatted with 12 pt. Times New Roman or Garamond type.
Simultaneous submission is allowed. We request you to immediately notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Please submit only ONCE per reading period.
Multiple submissions are considered. You can submit to more than one section simultaneously.
Please add a cover letter into the body of the email that includes your first and last name, email address, the title of your work(s), and a brief bio (strictly under 100 words or less).
From the current issue, we will undergo a "blind" submissions process. Personal information should not appear anywhere on the attached document(s).

Short-fiction

Age, theme, genre are no barriers.
Please submit up to 2 pieces of work (1-2) per submission. Short-story (fiction) and flash fiction are both allowed.
The word limit for short fiction is 3000 words and flash fiction is 750 words. No minimum word limit.
Please send in your entries in a single document attached in either of the following formats ONLY: .pdf.
We suggest that submissions be formatted with 12 pt. Times New Roman or Garamond type.
Simultaneous submission is allowed. We request you to immediately notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.

The word limit is 2500 words. Reviews exceeding the word limit may also be considered if adjudged exceptional.

We suggest that submissions be formatted with 12 pt. Times New Roman or Garamond type.

Please submit ONLY 1 photo-essay/story per submission.
The word limit is 1000 words. You may send up to 10 photographs. However, the final decision on the number of works to be featured will be taken by the Editorial and Design teams.

Please submit up to 5 pieces of work per submission.
Please include a 1-50 word "artist's statement" about each work. However, the final decision on the number of works to be featured will be taken by the Editorial and Design teams.
Please send in your artwork attached in either of the following formats ONLY: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png, or .pdf .
We accept most forms of visual art; this includes, but is not limited to photography, illustration, animation, sculpture, painting, ceramics, and drawing.
We suggest that submissions be formatted with 12 pt. Times New Roman or Garamond type.
Simultaneous submission is allowed. We request you to immediately notify us if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Verse of Silence retains the right to publish your work as a whole, or pieces thereof, on our website and social media handles. All rights revert to the individual authors upon publication. We ask that you credit Verse of Silence as the platform of original publication in case of future re-prints and issues.
Once the work is selected, Verse of Silence editors have the right to edit and/or make any necessary changes to the submission.

Payment

Verse of Silence is currently a non-paying market. However, we showcase your work on our social media platforms.
